"I simply repurchased a brand new Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill (CCM-16PC1) once my original identical unit died once ten years of usage. i used to be happy to visualize that i used to be able to purchase the precise same unit together with stainless end. I hope to urge another ten years out this one. I highly advocate the grinder. it's additionally pretty snazzy looking!"

An attractive, efficient, and competent grinder, March 13, 2004
By Trey Harris (New York, NY United States)
"This is the second automatic hopper-type burr grinder that I've owned. the primary was the similarly-priced Capresso 551.01, that died once a handful years of use. i do not understand what the lifespan of this Cuisinart grinder are going to be however, however thus far i am very impressed with the comparison between the 2. begin with the burden, at nearly four pounds--it merely feels a lot of substantial. (The Capresso could be a comparatively diminutive a pair of lb. 9 oz.) The casing is a beautiful stainless-steel (which may be a veneer over plastic, however it actually appearance nicer than the Capresso's black plastic) and also the hopper and grind chamber are of thick, good-quality acrylic.
The Capresso had to be emptied before changing the grind coarseness, and had atiny low, finger-bruising wheel with that to regulate it, however the Cuisinart's entire hopper turns freely to regulate the grind, crammed or not. i am additionally more than happy to search out that the Cuisinart does not dirt the countertop with a sprinkling of coffee once use, because the Capresso did. The motor is not whisper-quiet by any stretch, however it isn't as noisy as several home grinders.

There are solely 2 disadvantages of this grinder, in my opinion. First, the timer will solely be adjusted in two-cup increments (minimum of four cups). It will this with a satisfying click, but still, i might wish to nudge the slider somewhat for a weaker morning brew or a stronger nighttime one. Second, the hopper contains nearly four cups' value of coffee below the visible space, within the machine. That, combined with the grinder's heftier weight, makes it a chore to empty it if you wish to vary coffees (say, if a guest requests decaf). Not solely does one got to flip this brute upside-down, however you furthermore mght got to flip it each that approach so all the coffee within the machine works its answer.
But these are minor quibbles. Overall, this is often a wonderful machine."

Great Grinder for the Price, November 6, 2006 By Jim Watson (New Haven, CT USA)
"I see individuals complaining regarding this grinder being too tiny... uh, it's speculated to be small! that might be like shopping for an 18-wheeler tractor trailer and cab and then complaining that the truck was too big!!! Anyway, for atiny low grinder, this issue is nice. i take advantage of it not just for coffee, except for flax seeds and with reference to anything i want to grind up in tiny quantities. If you regularly end up desirous to grind a pound of coffee, then *obviously* this can be too tiny for you though."

Wonderful Lil' Grinder!, April 3, 2011 By Jody
"My husband was quite skeptical once I ordered this...he was wondering why I wasn't shopping for a "better" grinder. When it came, he chuckled maintaining his stance. However, once I used it, i feel he is modified his mind. This grinder grinds! It did a wonderful job on grinding herbs for me (lavender blossoms to be exact). Initially, I ground one Tbl semi-fine. following spherical, once I required additional, and desirous to strive a finer grind for the cookies i used to be creating, I increased the time and conjointly pulsed it. It turned out a pleasant fine powder. Beautiful! it should not be black or chrome steel or seem like an excellent grinder, however this will nearly as good, if not higher, employment than different grinders I've tried at higher costs. i like it! And, one cannot beat this price!"

PlanoJ, March 28, 2011 By J. Webb (Plano, TX)
" I "tossed" my first Krups grinder after a steady 10-12 years use. I think the blades got dull from a bag of cheap coffee I tried. I then moved to a couple of other "recommended brand" grinders and was disappointed in their bulk, the designs and cleanliness, not to mention high prices. I returned them.
I went back to this Krups grinder a couple of years ago and love it! Simple, efficient, easy to use, easy to store and clean.
I use it at least three times a day. "

back to basics, March 27, 2011 By A. M. Doyle (Cincinnati, OH USA)
"We were sucked into the hype around burr grinders a few years back and tossed our old Krups grinder. It was actually an old one of my mother's and the top was getting a little ragged, chewed up. But this week we came back around and ordered this grinder. You just can't beat its simplicity. I like being able to measure out the exact amount of beans and grind it to my own preference. The burr grinder relies on presets for how fine the grind is. You also are trusting that, when you set it to grind 10 cups' worth of beans, that's what you will get. After a while those things start getting a little wiggy on you.
But not this unit. It grinds exactly what you put in and it grinds it coarse or fine, whatever you want. There's very little to go wrong because there's not much going on. No fancy dials or knobs. It's perfect."

"I have used this model for 3 years about 100 lbs of beans. This is a replacement.
It works for it's daily grinding of coffee beans.
The old one still works but the new one is better, grinds
smoother, and makes a little less noise. "
