Best coffee I've ever had, June 17, 2003 By Stefohnee "stef" (Redmond, WA United States)
"I previously owned a (much) smaller version of this press, that created a superb cup of coffee. however that was the matter. It solely created a CUP of coffee. I typically have 2, and what if others wish coffee? It takes a jiffy, going one cup at a time.
Needless to mention, I upgraded to the current larger press, that makes regarding three times additional coffee. It makes the most effective coffee ever - I might never return to a junky previous drip coffee maker once this. Yeah, it's additional work than a drip coffee maker, but really, would you rather have fast, simple coffee that tastes dangerous, or a delicious cup of coffee that takes five minutes more?
Using this is often like steeping tea - you boil some water, grind some coffee beans (I hope you are grinding your own coffee beans!) and pour the water over the coffee grounds to allow them to steep for four minutes. Then you push the knob down, that filters delicious coffee into the water and leaves the grounds at the lowest of your pot. Then, voila! you have regarding three cups of yummy coffee, reckoning on to what extent you water your cup down with cream and sugar.
If you are one in every of those people that simply cannot anticipate their coffee, you would be comfortable obtaining a typical drip coffee maker. however if you're keen on coffee, and need it to style nearly as good because it probably will, you've got to shop for this press."
The BEST!, June 9, 2011 By Annie Wagener (Denver, CO)
"Who knew? After years of coffee machines, and the latest $150 machine breaking after just 6 months, I decided to try this. Not only is the end product far superior in taste, but this is classic, beautiful design that takes up much less room than a coffee maker. I bought the milk frother as well so who needs the fancy coffee shops at $6/a cup?! Highly recommend this. "

Bodum 34 ounce beaker is commonly called 32 ounce too.and some FAQ too, December 23, 2008 By Eni Lane (Pennsylvania, United States)
"Bodum manufactures four sizes of Chambord French Press sizes.
They are called 3 cup, 4 cup, 8 cup and 12 cup." http://www.bodumusa.com
If Amazon were to have investigated their listing of this replacement beaker, they should have categorized it as that of 32 ounce for less confusion, or should have simply listed the beaker as 8 cup, etc.
Or,even 32/34 ounce may have been a better choice.
Here is the scoop,(in my opinion),for all the confusion of sizes for beakers listed on Amazon or elsewhere.
When you are shopping for replacement beakers you start to realize whom is providing the correct information.
It is not Amazon calling this 34 ounce to help you out, unless the replacement beaker is not made by Bodum and instead some other brand name?
Amazon sells you a 8 cup French Press, then lists the replacement beaker as 34 ounce,i believe that the beakers are either not made by Bodum or information maybe lost in metric sizes to us calculations.Just list the beaker as mentioned above.
Therefore,i shall list clarification for you all and one day will review my own comments incase i require another beaker, although I suggest you buy a replacement one anyways if you become accustomed to enjoying French press coffee.
A French Press is worth nothing if the carafe beaker breaks. Buy one replacement beaker even the first time you have bought a French Press, then years down the road you will have thanked me for that advice.
Have have had mine with no problems since 2006,but felt it is best to be prepared now.
Bodum makes the following sizes clarified as follows.
3 Cup model is 0.35 liters or 12 ounces size beakers
4 Cup model is 0.60 liters or 17 ounces size beakers
8 Cup model is 1.00 liter(one liter size) or 32 ounce beakers
12 cup model is 1.50 liter ( 1 1/2 liter size) or 48 ounce size beakers.
So, when you see 34 ounce beaker listed it is actually 32 ounces or one liter size replacement beaker. That is because a company like Amazon should list it as 32/34 ounce for better clarification just like Bodum website does.
My perception is this 8 cup model is Bodum part # 1508-10
Also, you may consider buying the double walled glass carafe listed on Bodum website as part # 10573-10 but not sure if is listed for sale on Amazon. Just copy-paste the model number 10573-10 in the search mode and find out. On Bodum site,#10573-10 sells for $39.95 for double walled glass carafe. Of course, Bodum has its own shipping fees so find it on Amazon instead to try to get free shipping offers...
Not really sure if double walled glass carafe is worth twice the price, but maybe if you are making your French Press coffee not following directions properly that double walled glass may be your solution to not break your carafes anyways.
Therefore, consider this glass beaker for the masses."

Tidy Adaptation of the Cowboy Coffee Brew Method, June 8, 2009 By AZshooter
"Let's face it, dumping coffee grounds into a bucket of hot water is nothing new. The Bodum Press may be a refinement of the cowboy coffee brewing technique, minus the campfire & straining it via a sock. In My world, there's no such issue as "too Strong" for coffee. There IS, however, too bitter & too acidy. The press will what perking, dripping and steaming ground coffee cannot do: manufacture a stout, nevertheless swish cup of coffee - a bit like the things created around decades of my campfires.
Model Brazil, created in Denmark by a Swiss Company & referred to as a French Press. No surprise the confusion over specifically what percentage cups this really makes. The Euro-instructions for the press say four oz. per cup, however even my fine Bavarian China cups (from after I lived in Munich) are half-dozen ounces.
Just cross-check it this way: It holds thirty two ounces of water.
The directions on your roast coffee container sometimes inform use one TBSP per half-dozen ounces of water (NOT four ounces & NOT eight ounces). Again, in MY world, 32 ozs. makes regarding two cups of coffee.
I toss in half-dozen or a lot of scoops of ground coffee, pour in hot water & wait the obligatory four minutes. The result's a swish coffee that you just will drink by the quart while not that nasty heartburn/reflux aspect impact.
It's ideal for work, where the workplace sissies are petrified of offending anyone with REAL coffee, in order that they create it weak. I merely intensify to the recent water spigot & take the Press to my desk.
Now, you, too, will have coffee the method you wish it at work while not having to hide up someone's botched brew with that foo-foo Vanilla, Hazelnut, Irish Cream or different phoney-flavored fake creamers.
Cleanup? Swirl around some soapy water, & dump the grounds down the sink - simply make sure to possess the water blasting & the rubbish disposal running, therefore on not plug up the sink lure.
Even if you have already got the coffee-brewing equipment of your dreams, get the Bodum thirty two oz. model. you will not be disappointed."
Best way to make filter coffee, March 30, 2011 By Phil
"To me the french press makes the most effective filter or "drip" coffee. make certain you employ the proper coarseness of grounds, and you may be a really happy, coffee-drinking camper. This product is strong and a really good buy. I cannot imagine something a dearer French Press would improve over this one."
